How to Fertilize Your Garden in 3 Easy Steps

Fertilizer can be found in almost any home improvement store or even dollar stores.

It is best to purchase your fertilizer at a store that will provide you with good customer service. If you have any questions about the fertilizer, it is nice to know that the company will be helpful in answering those questions for you. Fertilizer can be found in almost any home improvement store or even dollar stores. At dollar stores, you can find cheap fertilizer like bone meal or blood meal but at home improvement stores, they usually have a better selection of fertilizers.

Fertilize after planting and once a month through the summer.

  • Put on your gardening hat and grab a bag of fertilizer.
  • After you plant, fertilize the soil.
  • When it’s sunny out (and not raining), fertilize again once a month through the summer!

Apply fertilizer at the base of plants, not directly on their foliage.

The next step is to place the fertilizer on the ground underneath your plant, 6 inches away from its base. Fertilizer should never be placed directly on the foliage of a plant because it can burn their delicate leaves. It’s important to apply fertilizer evenly, so that all roots of your plant have access to it and thus will benefit equally from its nutrients. The best time to fertilize is during cooler parts of the day (early morning or evening) and when soil is moist.

Use organic fertilizer on sensitive plants like vegetables and herbs.

Many people assume that chemical fertilizers are the best solution to their garden woes, but this can have disastrous effects on sensitive plants. Using organic fertilizer, such as manure, is the safest option for gardens that contain vegetables and herbs. The benefits of using an organic fertilizer are numerous; most importantly, these fertilizers help to return nutrients to the soil for future crops instead of depleting it. In addition, organic fertilizers will not burn your plants when applied in the correct amounts.

Put your garden in the spotlight by fertilizing it the right way.

Fertilizing your garden is a great way to make sure it gets the help it needs to grow big and strong. Even if you think your plants are doing fine, fertilizing them will give them a little extra oomph that can help ensure their survival during harsh weather conditions. A healthy plant is also less susceptible to disease, which can save you time and money in the long run!Fertilizer can be found in almost any home improvement store or even dollar stores.
